WIA/WGA benefits and dismissal: Your questions answered

Questioner

Dear, I have been receiving a WIA/WGA benefit since February and it will run until March 2020. I do think that work pays off, but there is nothing about dismissal during WGA benefits on the UWV website. If I find a part-time job and am fired again, will I fall back on the WGA benefit or will I have to deal with unemployment benefits? BVD

If you work in addition to your WGA benefit and you lose your job due to dismissal, you can receive unemployment benefit. This is possible if you have worked for at least 26 weeks after the start of your WGA benefit. The unemployment benefit applies to the number of hours that you are back at work.
