Plumbing Liability: Important Information

Questioner

On behalf of our VVE, a plumbing company is coming to replace all the risers in our apartments, for which walls and ceilings have to be broken open. In a letter from the plumbing company, it states under liability that they do not accept liability for stains, damage to walls, floors, ceilings and sanitary facilities. Is this correct, is this possible, I just have a new kitchen and wooden floor throughout the house, which is why I would like some clarification on this, thanks in advance

Excluding liability is not permitted and you can object to this. The (in)validity of this provision is partly laid down in law. First of all, it is not possible to bind someone to a unilateral statement without consent. Therefore, the provision must have been agreed to by the other party, although this can be done tacitly. Therefore, in your case, you should not agree to this clause.
