VvE contribution and decisions: your rights

The board of the VvE wants to give the entrance hall a more luxurious look. If a majority of the owners agree, all owners must contribute to this. This is an amount that is more than 15,000 euros more than normal maintenance of that entrance would require.

This expense does not fall under normal maintenance, so that such an adjustment and the costs associated with it require the approval of the meeting. I understand from your explanation that a decision has already been made. But has the board decided this or has it also been submitted to the AGM? If the AGM has decided to implement the adjustment and to incur costs for this, then you are bound by it. Such a decision can also be contested. You can request the subdistrict court to annul the decision, for example if it must be considered to be contrary to reasonableness and fairness. This must be done within one month after the meeting in which this decision was made.
