VVE Heating Costs Dispute? Free Legal Advice!

Questioner

I bought an apartment in September 2016, and only moved in in November 2016. However, I have just received a bill from the VVE for the heating costs. But these are also heating costs from 2015, and part of 2016; when I was not yet the owner of the apartment. They made an estimate of the heating costs (personal contribution per month) and I received a letter stating that the meter readings in 2015 were incorrect. I do not intend to pay the costs for the years/months that the house was not mine. How can I solve this as well, quickly and legally as possible? And who is in the right?

Lawyer

You are right. I advise you to send a letter to the VvE and briefly explain the situation with any proof of date of occupancy. Indicate that you will start paying from this date.
