Roof extension liability: What to do?

Questioner

Question about liability for a roof extension. I have requested permission from the VvE to be able to realize a roof extension. The environmental permit has also been applied for. I assume that damage during construction is covered by the CAR insurance of the contractor. Is this correct or do I need to arrange additional insurance? In addition, the question arises as to who is liable for damage to the roof after the renovation, for example in the event of a leak. Is this covered by the building insurance via the VvE (I will probably pay a little more than the rest) or do I have to pay the costs of repair myself? Thanks in advance.

Damage caused by construction work is the responsibility of the contractor and he will have to insure himself against this. You do not need to take out additional insurance. With regard to damage to the roof after the renovation, this is covered by the VvE's building insurance. You will indeed have to pay more premium because of the roof construction. You can also take out additional insurance yourself if the building insurance does not provide sufficient coverage.
