Health insurance and living in Germany | Legal aid centre

Questioner

My husband lives and works in Germany during the week. He leaves for Germany on Monday morning and comes home on Friday late afternoon. He rents an apartment in Germany. He is registered in the municipality where he works because of the rental agreement for the apartment and has a (German) health insurance through his employer. He is also still registered with the municipality. I assume that he does not have a second home in the Netherlands needs health insurance Yet the CAK keeps telling us that he needs health insurance. The question is what should we do to avoid fines (as CAK imposes fines based on information from the municipality) (writes out).

Is your husband also registered in the Netherlands, because then I understand the action. Because anyone who lives or works in the Netherlands is obliged to be insured there. Read more here: http://www.grensinfo.nl/gip/nl/index.jsp
