Questioner

As a self-employed car detailer, I am hired by a car company. I am expected to work 8 hours a day, however my day starts at 8am and ends at 5pm. Now I work as a self-employed person under the authority of a client, the client tells me you work 8 hours a day minus breaks, but I think from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. is really nine hours. Is it the case that the client deducts hours to his own advantage?

If you work no more than 10 hours, you can ask your employer to pay you 9.5 hours of wages. You do not have to accept continued payment of wages for 9 hours. If you wish, you can contact us without any obligation.
