My girlfriend and I bought a new house together. We received invoices from the contractor that turned out to be too high. The mortgage provider paid all these invoices within the term. The house will be delivered within a few weeks. We have paid too much interest to the mortgage provider from January 2017 until now. What are the steps we can take? Can we recover the overpaid interest from the contractor?

You have paid too much without being obliged to do so. You are entitled to reimbursement plus statutory interest from the date of payment.
