Rent Terminated? Legal Advice for Community Gardens

Questioner

My lease on an allotment garden has now been terminated without giving any reason. I pay my rent on time and comply with all the rules set out in the contract. The landlord never gave me any written or verbal warning(s). Can a landlord of an allotment complex legally terminate the lease without reason or is there still some kind of rental protection?

Lawyer

If there is a piece of undeveloped land, there is no rental protection for allotments as there is for homes. The landlord may simply terminate in accordance with the rental agreement, but there must be compelling reasons for this. If it comes to legal proceedings, it depends on your arguments whether you have any chance. A lack of your garden is usually insufficient grounds to still be able to rent.
