Divorce: What remains after legal fees?

Hello, My daughter is going through a divorce. She and her (ex) husband both have a lawyer with legal aid.. Question: What is the maximum amount you may keep from the divorce, in terms of money from the equity in your home and assets, including your car, without having to pay the lawyer afterwards? Thank you.

She would then have to receive more than half of the applicable tax-free allowance. For 2017, I believe that this has been set at an amount of 25,000 euros. Half of that is 12,500 euros. The Legal Aid Board asks lawyers to indicate when declaring the case whether an amount of 10,000 euros or more has been or will be received at the end of the case. Questions are asked about this from that limit.

Thank you for your clear answer. The following question arises for me. Why do they ask for an amount of 10,000 or more when the limit is 12,500. Why that margin of 2,500.--.

I can't give you that answer right away. You could contact the Legal Aid Board itself about this. I think they use this margin as a floor in order to keep an eye on whether there is a possible claim for a somewhat higher amount, which could make the case payable after all.
