Legal advice for damage to wedding dress

Questioner

I had my wedding dress taken by top cleaning. A dry cleaner in Harderwijk! I got a call today that they don't have good news and that the colors of my dress have faded to the lighter color! I had red and champagne.. They say they have been in the business for 50 years and I can assume that they know their trade! Now they will see what they can do for me, but I do not intend to pay the extra costs if they charge me! I am really angry and think this should never have happened. If things go completely wrong, what is the best thing to do? I spoke to them on the phone and luckily I have a program that records my conversations...maybe not allowed but I am very happy with it now!!

Lawyer

That is indeed very annoying. The dry cleaner with extensive experience knows or should know that color differences can occur and that extreme caution is required with a wedding dress. A separate wash could possibly prevent the damage. You can then also hold the dry cleaner liable for this damage. Wait for their response first. If you cannot reach an agreement, please contact me without obligation.
