Redistributed: Residual debt after house sale

My ex-husband and I have residual debt after selling our house. I now have wage garnishment and am therefore paying off my share. My ex is not paying off anything. Why not, the creditor does not indicate. Is it possible to divide this debt so that everyone can pay off their own share and I don't have to pay off his share too?

This is only possible if the creditor wants to cooperate. However, he has no interest in this, because then (after you have paid your 'share') the creditor runs the risk that your ex's share cannot be recovered from him. If you pay the creditor more than your share, you can recover this from or possibly offset it with your ex.
