Housing Rent Higher? Discover Your Rights!

Questioner

A month ago I responded to a private sector home, the housing association sent me an email saying that they could offer me the home because my income had been approved (which I had to send). They also let me know by email what the rent would be and that a 2-month deposit had to be paid when signing the lease. I agreed to this by email. Now I got a phone call 2 weeks later from the housing association saying that they had made a mistake in the rent price and that it would be hundreds of euros higher, is this allowed?

No, an agreement was reached by accepting the offer. De Woningbouw cannot rely on a mistake. If the housing association does not agree to the initial rent, I advise you to send them a written request to draw up a rental agreement with the initially agreed rent. I'm happy to help you.
