Divorce in community of property: your questions answered

My father got married 10 years ago and is now getting divorced. They are married in community of property. but my father already had a house and she moved in there. what if they get divorced? does she have the right to the house? or half of all his possessions?

If there is a community of property, everything, including the house that your father already had before the marriage, belongs to that community. Both your father and his wife are each entitled to half of that community. (This system will change as of 1 January for people who marry from that date without making a prenuptial agreement)
