Legal Advice for Garden House and Permits

Questioner

We bought a corner house in Veldhoven at the beginning of this year. Now we have placed a wooden garden house of 4x2.3 meters next to the garage. Now the municipality is at the door. They indicate that a permit was needed and mention 5 points that are not correct: - Poor material (is this sustainable wood?) - There is a space of 20 cm between the garden house and the garage, this should not be allowed due to possible vermin - Roof slope would not be good (standard garden house, I assume the roofs are standard?) Does anyone know how this works? The municipality wants us to move the garden house to the back... Are they within their rights?

It may be true that you do indeed need an environmental permit and that conditions may be attached to this. If building is not permitted without a permit (see: https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/bouwregelgeving/checken-of-vergunning-nodig-is-voor-ver-bouwen/vergunningvrij-bouwen-en-verbouwen ), you can find the rules that apply to you in the zoning plan that applies to your location. (see: www.ruimtelijkeplannen.nl)
