Tax advice for German-Dutch living situations

Questioner

Ir/Madam, I moved to Germany and rent a house there with my partner. The main occupant is my partner. I work in the Netherlands for a Dutch employer. I also own a home in the Netherlands for which I pay my mortgage repayments every month. - What should I now do as my main residence with the tax authorities? give up in the Netherlands? - Can I (also from a tax perspective) 2 residential addresses have different to land? - Does this affect the annual mortgage interest deduction and tax refund? I can't get a clear answer on this, maybe you can help me out. Thank you in advance

The fact is that your main residence is in Germany. For tax purposes, it is not possible to have two addresses where you have your main residence. The fact that your main residence is in Germany has consequences for the deductibility of mortgage interest, unless the property is for sale.

Your only stay is in Germany. There is no choice possible.
