Legal Advice on Car Damage | Legal Aid

Questioner

A few months ago, a car hit my lease car (which I use for a taxi company), which bent the side door considerably. Because the person who hit my car drove on after the accident, I reported it. Fortunately, I was able to register the license plate of the person, so in principle it should not be that difficult for the police. However, this week I received a letter stating that all damages will be recovered from me, because the other party cannot be 'found'. Yesterday, the words were put into action and my entire salary was withheld by the lease company, which works with the taxi company I work for. Now my question is: is this allowed? Can I do anything about this? Because as it looks now, this means that I will not receive a salary for a whole month.

That is not allowed just like that. You are entitled to salary, especially considering the fact that it is not your fault (?) that damage occurred. The leasing company must assume such damage in the event of an accident during working hours. You must inform the employer in writing that he is acting unlawfully and that you are entitled to your salary. If you cannot reach an agreement, please contact me free of charge for consultation.

I advise you to send your employer a written request to pay your salary, but also to inquire with the police in whose name the registration number is registered. If you want I can find that out for you
