Compensation for damage to dress: What to do?
Questioner
One of our waitresses recently spilled oil on a guest's dress, leaving two tiny, barely visible stains after dry cleaning. Dry cleaning costs €10.95 and the question now is whether we will also reimburse the dress in addition to these costs. €120.00 I asked how long she had had the dress, what brand, and if she still had a receipt. The answer was, no receipt, understandable, a few years but it is a dress that you do not wear every day so it will last a long time (occasional dress) I want to accommodate the lady of course but I don't really want to pay her the new value and according to me she can still wear the dress. And she will have two occasion dresses. Or maybe a pair of new shoes. Do you know how much I should pay?Lawyer
If you have insurance, you can report the damage there. If you do not have insurance, you can negotiate a reasonable value that depends on the price, the number of years old, etc., the so-called current value, but certainly not the new value. It is therefore impossible to say in advance how much should be reimbursed. You can also try to have the tiny stains removed more thoroughly if possible.Neem de volgende stap
