Questioner

We had a PVC floor laid in our new home. Unfortunately, the leveling was not done properly, which resulted in visible irregularities in the floor. This was recently repaired, after which it only got worse. Now the company wants to lay the floor again, but then we cannot enter the house for 3 days and the living room must be completely empty. The contact person of the company indicated that the furniture would have to be outside for 3 days. Of course we do not agree to this. My question is whether the company is also responsible for the temporary storage of the furniture and its transport. There are a number of pieces of furniture that are too large to place on the upper floor for a while. In addition, we have 2 tall cabinets in the kitchen with the fridge/freezer and the oven. The floor has been laid underneath them (so the cabinets are on top of them). If the floor is to be re-laid, it will have to go around these cabinets. This is not how we had in mind, are we then entitled to compensation? Thank you in advance,

The floor layer will have to lay the floor as you agreed. If this is not the case, you can put him in default or claim compensation. Compensation can also be claimed for the temporary storage of the furniture. I advise you to report this in writing to the floor layer.
