Legal Advice for Car Purchase Problems

Questioner

Good day, I bought a car from a garage last year, with an MOT inspection due for almost a year. Now it is almost due for a new MOT inspection, but since it is now at the garage for repairs (fuel pump broken), I was told that the bodywork no longer looked so great. Where I recently worked, there was also someone who recognized my car, it had belonged to a friend of his, and he told me that he was told that the car had failed inspection at the time because of the bodywork. I don't like it when people are ripped off, let alone when it is said that the car will fail the MOT, since I had my previous car inspected here, and was told that it would cost more than 1200 euros to have it pass the MOT, and my previous car is still there. Am I just unlucky to put it that way, or can I hold them in default, not being honest or something like that, if it is true that this car was rejected by them last year (which was apparently communicated to the previous owner) and it was still sold, since I don't want a big bill now, if this was already known last year, which I was not told at the time of purchase.

Lawyer

It appears that you can still cancel the purchase because at the time of purchase the garage was aware that the bodywork was no longer in good condition and they did not tell you this. In order to give you a more detailed advice I would like to discuss all the facts and circumstances.
