Legal Advice on Alimony and Custody

Questioner

I received a letter from my ex's lawyer (not married). We have a daughter together over whom I do not have custody and who does not bear my surname. I made a financial agreement with her in the past (alimony) for a fixed amount per month. She has now been in debt restructuring for several years and wants me to increase the amount paid because she cannot make ends meet financially, this is also retroactive. The calculation was made on the basis of an indication they made of an amount that is not realistic. I am now with my back against the wall and do not really know what steps I should take now. In the meantime I have my own family and a stable living environment that I have had to work hard for. I have also had a lot of debts in the past and have paid them all off by working hard. What is your advice?

Lawyer

I advise you to have an alimony calculation made based on your current financial situation. As a father, you can also request parental authority over your minor child.
