Legal questions about compensation hours?
Questioner
I work in a home care organization. And recently received the offer to compensate for my overtime. It went like this: You can compensate next Thursday. You must remain available until 9:30 Thursday morning. This is when there are unexpected sick calls. My manager said it a little differently, namely: A compensation day means that you will be called back first. According to my manager, both statements mean the same thing. While I assumed that if I compensate I would still have a day off? My question is, can my employer make this demand?Lawyer
