Lease car and own contribution: What now?

Questioner

Through my employer I am entitled to a lease car. I have just selected this one. A personal contribution applies here. If I leave the company, I must repay the personal contribution for the remaining term of the lease contract of my car to the employer. The lease arrangement of my employer states the following about this: 'If the employee leaves the company before the end of the lease contract, he must pay the personal contribution for the remaining actual term of the lease contract to company x in one go'. Do I also have to pay this contribution if the employer does not extend my contract? I'd like to hear it.

It seems that according to the letter of the regulation you would also owe the contribution, but the question is of course whether that is reasonable. You could push for an additional provision to be laid down stating that you only owe the remaining contribution. When you leave the company on your own initiative.

Based on these terms, it cannot be ruled out that the employer will enforce a lump sum payment of the personal contribution for the remaining term if the employer does not extend your contract. Within a certain period, you have the option to have an agreement terminated. This is almost always included in the agreement. If you ask the employee about the scope of the contract, you can have the contract changed if desired. If you wish, you can contact us without any obligation.
