Legal Aid and Divorce - Discover Your Options

I have been divorced since May this year. During the discussions with a mediator for the settlement of the divorce, my ex received funded legal aid, I did not. This was based on income. I have now taken over our house and therefore have full housing costs and care for our son. To be able to afford all this financially, I work full-time and receive a child-related budget, etc. He lives with his mother and works 28 hours, and apart from the occasional grocery shopping, he doesn't have to pay much or anything for it. If we now start talking to a mediator again regarding the evaluation of our parenting plan, will I also receive legal aid? Since he clearly has more money left in this way than I do and he would therefore be able to bear the costs more easily.Lawyer
You can see whether you are eligible for legal aid at www.rvr.org. This depends on your income and whether you are single or a single parent (and possibly your partner's income). You then click on 'information for legal aid seekers' and then on 'what are the conditions' and then on 'Personal contribution'. There you will find the tables in which you can read whether you are eligible for legal aid and if so, what the personal contribution is. Your ex-partner's income does not affect whether you qualify for legal aid.Neem de volgende stap
