Changing work location: your rights with your employer
Questioner
Can my employer change my work location at (very) short notice? I work for a company1 that is hired by company2. The 'client' (company2) decided months ago to terminate the contract with my employer. My direct employer only informed me of this verbally for the first time today. While the agreement between the two companies already ends in 5 days. My employer only suggested that there might be room to work at other locations. But made no statements about the number of days or other practical matters. The other option was that I would terminate my employment. Can my employer just change the workplace at such short notice and employ me elsewhere while I do not agree and there is no clarity about the amount of potential work? The other locations are difficult to reach by public transport and are located in other cities at least 20 km away. Together with my colleague, we usually work a few days a week in company 2. So we do not work on fixed days per person, but at fixed times. The number of days to be worked is usually determined at the beginning of the month with a minimum of 2 per week.Lawyer
Unfortunately, in principle you must comply with a request from your employer. Your employer's request must meet reasonableness and fairness. That you can take it into account. Due to the distance and the period, there is something to be desired. I advise making this clear.Neem de volgende stap
