Liability for damage caused by roofer

Questioner

A roofer, who was reroofing the two neighbours' houses, has caused damage to the paintwork of the woodwork of my house. In addition, the pavement in front of my house is covered in tar splatters. Who do I hold liable for the damage?

Lawyer

Legally, both your neighbours who made the appointment with the roofer and the roofer are liable for the damage you suffered. This simply means that they are obliged to (reasonably) reimburse your costs or repair the damage. It is best to contact an authorized representative to assist you.
