My company wants to give me a temporary contract extension of 0.2 FTE on top of a permanent contract of 0.7 FTE. For that temporary extension, to save costs, they ask me to waive my unemployment benefits. If I refuse, the temporary extension must be done through an employment agency, and that is at the expense of the team budget. If I waive my unemployment benefits, the contract is with the company itself, my manager saves the costs of Randstad and the larger company itself the costs of any unemployment benefits. Now I wonder if it is even possible to waive unemployment benefits. How legally valid is this?

It is possible to voluntarily insure for the WW. If you pay premiums, you can of course claim benefits.
