Legal Questions About Returning Tools?

We are working at a data center under construction. Now my colleagues are working in a section where strict controls are in place to ensure that no information or material is removed from the building, which is right in my opinion. We only need tools for our work, we are only allowed to take what was indicated in advance. The only question is whether they (the customer) are allowed to keep them there, when we leave the building again? The customer says yes and only if there is a request can we get the tools back. Is that allowed just like that, we can prove that we only take tools back. Is the customer allowed to do this just like that?

If this has been clearly communicated in advance in the order of agreement and the general terms and conditions, then this is a fact. If this is not the case, you can submit an objection letter for the return of your tools.
