Locker Liability: Your Rights

Questioner

My brother went to Fatility last weekend, a party in Oss. He rented a locker here to keep his stuff. When they came back, his wallet and iPhone 6s plus were stolen, as well as a friend's wallet. After looking around and asking, it turned out that this was the case for more people. There is no sign of any break-in damage to the lockers. After speaking to one of the rental people, she simply said that there were signs saying 'deductible'. But a service has been paid for, so it seems to me that the landlord does have some liability. Can you explain to me how or what?

Lawyer

By hanging up signs, it does not mean that no liability can be acknowledged. General terms and conditions may not disadvantage the citizen, and that certainly seems to be the case here. In this case, it even seems to me that there is someone internally at the landlord who has embezzled this. My advice is therefore to simply report the theft. The police must then investigate this. If the police do not want to investigate, this can be enforced through the courts. If you would like further help and/or advice, please feel free to contact me.
