Our mother has been admitted to a nursing home for health reasons. Are we, her children, now liable to return her rental home (after 50 years of renting) to its original condition? Or is emptying and cleaning it thoroughly sufficient? What exactly can the landlord legally demand after 50 years? We know that renovations/renovations will take place anyway once the house is empty (which is not unusual after 50 years). There is a hardwood floor in the living room, the stairs to the first floor are covered with carpet and there are tiles in the hallway. We would like to have some more information about this.

In principle, it should be delivered in the original state, but is there still an inspection report? In other words: is it still known what the original state was?
