Certainty about Internship Opportunities after Graduation

Questioner

I just graduated from university and I am looking for a job. Now I have the opportunity to do an internship at a company to gain work experience that can eventually help me find a job. Usually an internship is connected to a training course, but I have already graduated. According to the 'training company' I can just as well do an internship without following a training course. I will simply enter a training course with them that will eventually give me work experience. According to the training company, they are more at risk than I am, in relation to the tax authorities, but they are convinced that if they can demonstrate that it is really a training course, they will not run any risk either. However, I want certainty about this. I do not want to have problems at the end of my internship because I have not been legally employed or have not done an internship. Can you tell me if I am at risk?

Lawyer

Please note that with an employment contract you are entitled to wages, and with an internship contract you are entitled to only compensation. You can always contact me for more advice.

Lawyer

It is possible to follow an internal training program with internship. It is then certainly necessary that the agreements match the objective and that is in any case an internship agreement and an agreement for possible training. What this should look like in your case, I could not say because I do not know what they do, what the possibilities are etc. If they doubt the possibilities, it is advisable that they contact a lawyer and/or an accountant who can also advise them on this. If you want further help and/or advice, please feel free to contact me.
