Care Leave and Payment: Your Rights Explained

One of my children is sick and I can't arrange for a babysitter, so I have to stay home during my workday. Do I get paid time off now??

If you are ill, you can take care leave. You are entitled to a maximum number of hours per 12 months and will then receive a maximum of 70% of your salary unless your employer wants to pay you in full. In the case of long-term care leave, you are not entitled to payment.

I myself was not ill, my eldest daughter was ill and because I could not arrange a babysitter I had to take time off....my question is: will I get paid now...
