Care Leave and Work: Your Rights

Questioner

Care leave and work In February I had to take care of my child for 3 days due to febrile convulsions. For this I indicated at work that I wanted to use the care leave but they found this strange and I now had to give up 3 days off. Can I subsequently write a letter requesting that those days be taken as care leave, knowing that I will only be paid 70% for them? I look forward to hearing from you.

Lawyer

If you have to care for someone in your immediate environment, the employer must grant you care leave for this if you request it. You must inform them of this in writing and request them to still comply with this obligation. You can also choose to have this done by a lawyer, which often puts a bit more pressure on you. You are entitled to the 70% and they must give you the days you have lost to this. If you would like further help and/or advice, please feel free to contact me.
