What to do with unwanted photos from your landlord?

My landlord has requested permission in writing three days in advance for access to the properties in connection with the appraisal. During the viewing, photos were taken of all rooms. Upon request, no further reason was given for why the photos were needed. Can photos be taken of my home without prior notice? If not, what steps can I take?

If the landlord wants to enter the property to inspect or appraise the property, the landlord must ask permission for this, and you must cooperate with this, there is nothing wrong with this. However, simply taking photos in your protected environment is not allowed and can be a violation of your privacy, and they should have asked your permission first, but also told you the reason. You can then also file a written complaint with the landlord, and request that they also provide a reason why a photo was taken of the inside of your home and your belongings. If they do not provide a satisfactory answer, you can try to resolve it together with a mediator, and/or submit the case to a judge.
