Questioner

My ex-husband pays the costs of our joint mortgage, because he also lives in the house. I was able to take out my own mortgage because of this. This is recorded in the agreement. We have verbally agreed that he will pay less alimony until the joint house is sold, so that he does not get into financial trouble. Now he has a girlfriend. He goes to Ibiza with her, buys nice dresses for her...etc. Now I want him to pay full alimony, because in my opinion this cannot be the intention. What can I do and how strong am I?

Lawyer

If there are no changed circumstances, you have little chance. In principle, the covenant must be complied with. And your ex apparently does that too.

Questioner

the agreement that he will pay less alimony, temporarily, is not in the covenant

Lawyer

The agreement outside the covenant is not recorded in some way? You can of course also claim the alimony again.
