Questioner
Hello, I have been working for a large company in a call center for 6 years. I became increasingly ill and a year ago I was referred to a specialist. He suspected a chronic illness where you are ill for periods, suddenly and periods that are going well. I had examination after examination. There is still no clear diagnosis but there is still a suspicion. You have to be examined at the right time. I discuss everything with the occupational health and safety doctor and he supports me. My manager keeps indicating that he has no confidence in the future and comments that I should look for a job outside the company. I really like my job and am building up my hours again. I have a permanent contract for 24 hours. I do my job well. I asked my manager what they expected of me and I indicated that I wanted to do other tasks on the days that things were worse, but then they indicated that it was modified work and they did not do that. They said yes and also that I should ask myself whether this position suits me because of being ill. I also do not know what to say then. My questions are: are they allowed to act like this? Can I do something about it? If they want me gone (my impression) that is possible, how should I go about it? Can I still 'get' something so that I can retrain for example? I don't want to leave and certainly not sit at home and I can't miss my salary! I hope you can give me some answers. Thanks.Lawyer
As you describe it, this is not how it should be and you need legal assistance. To ensure that your employer acts as a good employer, that your reintegration goes well, that you keep your job or to support you in the event of a possible dismissal/outplacement. For example, from one of the lawyers on this site. Or are you perhaps a member of a trade union or are you insured for this?Neem de volgende stap
