Why Debt Collection? Get Legal Help!

Questioner

Apparently we said yes to something on the phone, but we can't remember it, we don't even know what the product contains, let alone that we said yes to it. Usually we say (in this case my husband) just send it on, then we'll look into it. Now we have to pay a bill, and after many phone calls on our part we still get a debt collection agency on our neck, with the associated costs. We want proof that we said 'yes' to this product. All they tell us is that it has been recorded. What to do? Why do WE have to prove that we did NOT make a commitment. (To our knowledge).

Business or private agreement? How long ago and have you already been offered and/or purchased services? What kind of service? A consumer has a 14-day reflection period after receipt of the product or the start of the agreement date for a service, but if the law is violated, in particular no information is provided about the possibility of cancellation, then the period is one year. The provider of the product or service must prove the existence of a legally concluded agreement.

It is private. My husband did speak to them on the phone. They say that we have already used it. We do not understand what it is about. It seems that we have received discounts for online orders, but they do not say what that was. We have started to doubt whether what they are doing is correct. It is now about a month ago that we claimed back the amount that they had collected from the bank, because we did not know for whom or what. They say that they sent us the information, so that we could (indeed) cancel within 14 days, but we have not received anything. They do not provide any evidence or anything. We have to have paid the collection agency by November 7, otherwise... What? They say that we have to report to the collection agency that we do not agree (in writing). But they work for the provider, don't they? We don't stand a chance against them, do we? How should we act now. And with whom. The provider or the collection agency? And what can we say, they keep fobbing us off....

If you contact me directly, you can give me the name of the collection agency; not all of them are equally reliable.
