Reminders by email: what are your rights?

Questioner

is a company allowed to send reminders for unpaid invoices only by email, aren't they supposed to send a copy by post as well? I only received an invoice by post when it included 40 euros of collection costs.

The company may send invoices by email, but in doing so it takes the risk that you will not receive the email. If it was customary to communicate by email, the company will assume that you have received the email. It is wiser and more secure to do this by post. If you have not received a reminder email, you can dispute the collection costs. For further assistance or more information, you can contact me directly and free of charge.
