Kitchen problems? Legal advice at www.rechtswinkel.nl

Questioner

I ordered a kitchen and signed for it. Now the kitchen supplier wants me to transfer the entire amount 8 days before delivery. If they were to go bankrupt shortly after this, I would lose my money and I would also have no kitchen. I have already called a bank and a notary to see if there is something that the bank guarantees or that the notary keeps the money in deposit, but that is not done with kitchens. Question 1: Is there a way that we can both trust that the transaction will go well without either party losing money? Question 2: Can I still get out of the agreement in some way? The law states that 100% prepayment is not allowed, but the legal aid office says that if I signed for it, this applies and not the law. Thank you in advance for your response.

The Civil Code stipulates that a maximum of 50% may be required as a down payment. If the kitchen supplier is CBW-approved, a maximum down payment of 25% may be required.
