Liability after home purchase: hidden defects?
Questioner
A month ago I bought a house. Everything signed and arranged. Now I want to have a new sink connected but the plumber says that the connection that is there now is not responsible. No brass coupling so the water can apparently become contaminated because it is iron and will rust. Can I still hold the seller liable for this because these pipes are no longer allowed. The house had always been a social housing and was also sold to me by the housing association. Are there hidden defects here?Lawyer
I have conducted many procedures regarding defects in homes. I fear that you have no case in court. A house must have the properties that are necessary for normal use. A tap that can possibly rust does not fall under that. Woodworm in a roof that has been hidden away by the sellers, causing the roof to collapse, for example, does. However, I would still try with a note to the seller. Who knows, you may be able to negotiate with him.Take the next step
