Liability in case of theft of rental trailer

Last night a rental trailer was stolen from my driveway. According to my insurance agent I don't have insurance that covers that. The landlord has a damage risk arrangement that makes me liable. But can I still be held liable if I have locked the trailer and partially enclosed? In my opinion, I have done everything possible to store the trailer safely.

Depending on the policy conditions, the renter is held liable for theft of the trailer, even if it is properly locked etc. The question then arises whether you really could not have done anything about the theft occurring.
