Days off during a wedding: What does your collective labor agreement say?
Questioner
We are getting married and my collective labor agreement states that I get 3 days off for this. We are getting married on a Friday and my working days are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Now my employer says that I only get one day off paid by them on Wednesday because I requested it and the week after my wedding we have a week of vacation but we already had that planned. Is this allowed, they say yes because I would have had to get married on Monday or Tuesday. Same goes for getting married. My collective labor agreement states one day for this. My employer says you only work three days and that means that you have to plan it on your day off and can kiss the day goodbye. This only applies if you work full-time because then you have no time outside of working hours. Is this correct?Lawyer
Usually, the collective labor agreement stipulates that only days off are given on days that someone normally works or is scheduled to work. In that case, your employer would be right that only Wednesday is a specific leave.Neem de volgende stap
