Can the tax authorities send an assessment twice for the same allowance that has to be repaid? I first received an assessment for childcare allowance 2011 with a certain amount in December 2011, then in February 2014 I received another assessment for childcare allowance 2011 with an even higher amount. The assessments only both have a different decision number. at the time that I used childcare, the childcare organization arranged the allowances with the tax authorities and they received a monthly contribution, now I have to pay that back. The first assessment of December 2011 has now been paid, do I have to pay the second assessment as well? Thank you for your time regards m

I cannot judge at this time what the reason is that a second assessment has been sent. In your case, it could be a provisional and final assessment. You could contact the tax authorities for information and ask them for an explanation. If you are not satisfied, you can of course change an objection and/or seek legal assistance.
