Sick leave: What to do in case of problems?

good morning I work at a store and today I got sick so I wanted to call in sick but I didn't do that until after 8:00 now the store manager tells me that I have to take a day off because I didn't call in sick before 8:00 while I'm only scheduled for the afternoon I don't know what to do kind regards

It depends a bit on what your internal rules for reporting disability are and what the reason was for your late report. I suggest that you email the branch manager stating that you have legally declared yourself unfit for work today and that you object to taking a day off.
