Liability for damaged ceiling panels
Questioner
Ir/Madam, Yesterday, February 20, a washing machine from Aankoopbedrijf was delivered by the Delivery Service with Extended Service (with complete unpacking and installation of the machine) to the rental property that I rent from a natural person. On site, one of the delivery men was not prepared to place the washing machine in a designated compartment, because according to him it was ''a crawl hole and they were not allowed to enter a crawl hole.'' However, the compartment in question is certainly not a crawl hole, because you can simply remain standing in front of the compartment if you were to place the washing machine in it. After leaving I contacted the Purchase Company, who told me that the delivery people should have put it in the box and connected it. They offered me 10 euros compensation, which I agreed to for the wrong delivery. Now I moved the washing machine myself and connected it (in my opinion) as well as possible. I had never connected a washing machine in my life and thought there was a hose that controlled both the supply and discharge of the water. This turned out not to be the case, which caused water to end up on the ground floor after the wash. This damaged around seven ceiling panels. The ceiling panels are in my opinion one of the cheapest variants, which you often see in storage spaces. Who do you think is liable/responsible to whom in this story (and who for what part)? It is purely about the replacement costs of the seven ceiling panels and any labor costs for that. Yours sincerely, QuestionerLawyer
You are responsible for this in principle, because the company could have given instructions or you could have asked for them. In any case, passing on the damage will be difficult, but you can try.Neem de volgende stap
