What to do with tasks outside your contract?

Can my employer say that something is part of my job description, even though my contract does not state anything about it?

If your employment contract contains a precise description of your tasks and this cannot be deviated from, your boss cannot simply say this. But in most cases there is a job description, which is separate from your employment contract, in which your tasks are neatly described. I think you are making a mistake between these two. The job description may contain tasks that you do not always do but are part of the job. Ask your employer for these.
