Unemployment benefits and settlement agreement | Rechtswinkel.nl

Ir/Madam, my employer has offered me a settlement agreement, because there is less and less work available. I myself normally work weekends for 6.5 years, but since December I also work during the week, because they are short of people. Initially I wanted to accept this offer, but it is not entirely clear to me whether I am eligible for unemployment benefits because I am a student and receive student finance. So my question is whether I (student) am entitled to unemployment benefits. If not, what rights do I still have? Thank you in advance for your answer.Lawyer
As long as the agreement shows that the employer took the initiative to terminate the employment and that you are not to blame and there are no urgent reasons for dismissal, you are eligible for unemployment benefits. It does not matter that you are a student. It is advisable to legally review the agreement on all other points. Usually the employer offers compensation for the costs of legal assistance to review the agreement or this can be negotiated. If you still need help with this, you can contact me without obligation.Take the next step
