Lessor's liability in case of bicycle theft

Questioner

Good morning, I am renting a house in an apartment building, in addition to rent I also pay service costs. Next to this flat there is a locked bicycle shed where we have to put our bicycles because bicycles are not allowed to be taken into the house. My bicycle was stolen from this shed while it was locked to a pole with a cable lock in this locked shed. My insurance does not want to pay because the bicycle was not in the house and therefore is not covered by the contents insurance. The landlord declares that he is not liable because parking the bicycle would be at your own risk. Can I still hold the landlord liable?

That depends on a number of factors. First of all, the question is what is stipulated in the rental agreement and other conditions. Do the service costs also apply to the bicycle shed. Is it a guarded bicycle shed and are you actually renting this bicycle shed? So more information is needed to answer your question.
