Carrier's liability in the event of damage - Legal Advice Centre

Questioner

Company A suffers major losses during the transport of 20 tonnes of cheese to Germany, because the cargo to be exported spoils as a result of defective cooling in the truck used for the transport. How can I now hold the carrier liable in a letter (example) in a proper and international law manner? And what steps should the management of Company A take to recover the damages from the carrier?

Lawyer

What nationality do these companies have? Has the agreement chosen German or Dutch law? If German law applies, company A would hire a (German) lawyer. The costs must be reimbursed.
