Health insurance when moving to France

Questioner

I am moving to France but would like to travel to the Netherlands regularly for specialist medical care and check-ups. Can I remain registered with a Dutch health insurer or do I also need a Dutch residential address?

Lawyer

You can only register with a Dutch insurer if you live or work in the Netherlands.

The above answer is correct, but not entirely complete. There are situations in which you can insure yourself against healthcare costs through the Zorginstituut Nederland (formerly CVZ). Take a look at the link below, or contact your current health insurer. http://www.zorginstituutnederland.nl/verzekering/buitenland
